Kidapawan city tourism officer gunned down

KIDAPAWAN CITY–The tourism officer of this city was shot dead by one of two motorcycle-riding assailants on Tuesday morning, Mayor Rodolfo Gantuangco said.

Ma. Fe Fame died at 10:05 a.m. at the Kidapawan Doctors Hospital while being operated on for four bullet wounds in the abdomen, Gantuangco said.

The mayor, citing witness accounts, said Fame was about to board a tricycle outside her home in Apo Sandawa Subdivision for work at around 9:15 a.m. when one of the assailants pumped bullets into her, one hitting her heart.

The armed men fled the scene as neighbors rushed Fame to the hospital.

Gantuangco said he has ordered an investigation into the incident to determine the motive and find the perpetrators.  (With a report from Edwin Fernandez, Inquirer Mindanao)
