2-year-old cerebral palsy patient needs aid for medicines

/ 11:10 PM September 03, 2012

Alexandra Bio’s growth and development has been slowed down by cerebral palsy. Her mother, Myrna Bio, told the Inquirer that her baby was in a comatose state when she gave birth to her two years ago. “You see her eyes wide open, but she cannot see. She can hear though,” Bio said of her child. She said that doctors at the Philippine General Hospital call her “Dwarfina,” after a television series character, because of her small frame.

It is her daughter’s smile, she said, that keeps her going, especially every time she tells her that they are going to the mall, even if they are on their way  to the hospital. Myrna said she hopes generous readers will respond to their appeal for help since she would need about P3,000 a month for Alexandra’s  medicines and formula milk. Readers who may want to help her can call Myrna at 0933-9485550. Her bank account number with BDO cash card is 6018539062594274. Santiago R. Alcantara
