Korean nabbed

Police arrested a Korean national last Saturday after he was accused of stealing car parts in an automobile shop in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City

Il Yoon, 22, of Howondong, Seoul Korea, was detained at the Subangdaku police station pending the filing of theft charges against him.

Investigation showed that the Korean was arrested after Reolito Tapere, 26, HS Motors manager, of Dumlog, Talisay City caught him stealing the car parts of a vehicle inside their auto repair shop.

Tapere found out that the backdoor camera of a vehicle worth P15,000, trajet pistons worth P8,000 and a sunvisor worth P3,000 were missing from a vehicle.

He confronted Il Yoon, who later went to the trunk of his car and took out the missing car parts.

Tapere then called the police, who coordinated with the Korean Embassy after the suspect failed to present his passport and identification cards./Correspondent Jucell Marie Cuyos

Motorcycle thief

Police arrested a man caught stealing a motorcycle in barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City yesterday.

Stephen Bo-oc, 38, of Medellin town who’s temporarilyn residing in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, was detained at the Subangdaku police station pending the filing of carnapping charges.

Investigation showed that security guard Daniel Sereña, 24, of Spectrum Security Agency caught Bo-oc trying to steal his motorcycle. He called the police.

Canduman arrest

Police from the Subangdaku police station arrested a woman-vendor during a buy-bust operation near the barangay Canduman elementary school on Saturday.

Mercedita Palongpong, 40, of  Zone 5 Public Market, barangay Canduman was collared after she handed a sachet believed to contain shabu to a undercover policeman.

Police confiscated a small sling bag from the suspect containing eight packs believed to contain shabu, P1,000 cash that were supposedly proceeds from her illegal trade.

Police claimed that Palongpong could dispose five grams of shabu everyday which cost at least from P25,000 to P30,000.

Cordova bust

Police arrested two brothers and a friend for selling shabu in barangay Dapitan, Cordova town during a buy-bust operation Friday afternoon.

Brothers Rolly, 21, and Romar, 19, Jumao-as and their friend Edwin Nunez, 40, were caught after a police decoy bought shabu from them.
