Twin blasts hit electric tower in Maguindanao
MANILA, Philippines—Two improvised bombs exploded at an electric tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines in Maguindanao Thursday night, the military said Friday.
Colonel Prudencio Asto of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division said the explosion occurred at NGCP tower number 20, some 30 meters from the National Highway of Layog village in Pagalungan town at about 10p.m.
Investigation said that two improvised explosive devices went off while the other one did not explode, he added.
A team was sent to conduct post blast investigation and recover the unexploded bomb.
Asto said the extortionist groups could be behind the attack.
