Cebuano Seno claims Philta Open 14-U title
CEBUANO Jan Godfrey Seno clinched the 14-under title of the Olivarez-Philta Open Tennis Championships at the Olivarez Sports Center in Sucat Paranaque.
The 12-year-old University of San Carlos student easily cruised to the championship with a 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Gabriel Samson.
Seno earned 200 points for claiming the title.
Advancing to the final round was not an easy task for Seno. He faced Vincent Alanis in the semifinals, where he lost the first set, 2-6.
He rallied in the second set to force a third round on a cramping Alanis. When Seno was leading the second set at 5-3, Alanis was already suffering from cramps.
In the third set, Seno was leading 3-0 when Alanis decided to quit the match.
