FIESTA-GOER KILLED

A 35-YEAR-OLD man was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in barangay Dawis Sur, Carmen town, northern Cebu.

 
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing of Malbert Laurel of barangay Poblacion, Danao City.

Police said Laurel and his relatives had gone to the barangay to attend the place’s fiesta celebration.

MARIJUANA-PEDDLER ARRESTED
A 19-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana in a buy-bust operation in barangay Balud, Dalaguete town, southern Cebu.

Bernard Calvo, a student of Alternative Learning School (ALS), allegedly sold sticks of marijuana worth P100 to a poseur buyer last Thursday evening.

Members of the Dalaguete police also seized four marijuana sticks from the man’s possession.

MAN KILLED IN BIKE-BUS COLLISION

A 38-YEAR-OLD man was killed after the motorcycle he drove collided with a mini-bus in barangay Tinaan, Naga City, southern Cebu last Thursday night.

 
Police identified the fatality as Artemio Caburnay.

 
Police said Caburnay overtook another vehicle and was in the opposite lane when his motorcycle collided with a mini-bus driven by Edgar Tabanao, 37.

 
Caburnay was brought to the South General Hospital where he was declared dead by the attending physician.
