Search now on for outstanding Carcar BHW

THE search committee for the Mayor Mariano Mercado Public Service Award 2012 is now accepting nominees for the Outstanding Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Carcar City.

Conceived in honor of Don Mariano Mercado, this year’s award is in recognition of the BHWs effective service to their respective communities.

Don Mariano Mercado, a pre-war chief executive of the then municipality of Carcar, was a humble and efficient public servant.  During his administration, some of the city’s famous landmarks such as the rotunda and the iconic public dispensary were built.

The deadline for submission of nominations is on Aug. 21. Awarding will be held during the 135th birth anniversary the late Don Mariano Mercado on Sept. 8 in Carcar City.
