Shot in Tisa

A woman shot and slightly wounded a 21-year-old woman at past 1 a.m. yesterday in sitio Filtro, barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Police said they were looking into the possibility that the attack against Rosenda Gonzales of barangay Pahina, Cebu City was gang-related.

Gonzales, who admitted to police that she’s a Bloods member, said her attacker was a certain Mommy Gabs.

Talisay stabbings

One person died while two others were wounded in three separate stabbing incidents in Cebu City and Talisay City last Sunday.

At 10 a.m., driver Eric Manzo, 30, was stabbed two times in the body by fellow driver Jaime Bendolo, 36, after an argument over their passengers. Both are from Bulacao, Cebu City.

At 5:30 p.m. in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, Marvin Alisoso, 22, was wounded in the arm after his 15-year-old brother stabbed him. He earlier scolded his brother over a piece of plywood his brother wanted to sell.

At 7:30 p.m., Joven Dabasol, 26, of barangay Cansojong, Talisay City died after he was stabbed several times in the body. He was earlier seen having a drinking spree with two men. /Correspondent Gabriel C. Bonjoc

Lapu attack

Police arrested a father and his son last Sunday after they were accused of stabbing a  factory worker in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police collared Vicente Agorring, 57, and his son Jailvey Aying, 23, a carpenter of sitio Dapdap, after Ryan Andales, 22, of sitio Kasinto, tagged them as  his attackers during a drinking spree. /Correspondent Norman V. Mendoza

Centcom chief

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command (Centcom) has a new acting chief, Maj. Gen. Jose Mabanta Jr.

Lt. Gen. Ralph Villanueva, Centcom chief who’s set to retire this month, turned over his command yesterday during a ceremony at Camp Lapu-Lapu in Cebu City.

Mabanta assured that he would continue Villanueva’s projects.

“I commit to continue what you have started especially the packed practice of the whole-of-nation and multi-stakeholder approach of winning the peace as embodied in Internal Peace and Security Plan (IPSP) Bayanihan,” he said. /Correspondent Carmel Loise Matus

Teener dead

A teenager died when he hit his head on the concrete floor of his cousin’s house after he suffered an electric shock from a DVD player plugged to an outlet that he tried to fix.

Adrian Enopia, 18, of barangay Poblacion, Madridejos town in northern Cebu was found unconscious on the floor of his cousin’s house last Sunday.
