Air21 tries to avoid winless conference

THE TALK ‘N TEXT Tropang Texters and the Air21 Express are poles apart in the standings with the former part of the six-team semifinal cast and the latter one of the three teams already out of contention.

The two squads play their final elimination- round games in the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup today at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Texters lead the standings with a 5-2 (win-loss) slate and getting another win will be crucial since the semifinalists’ elimination-round records will be carried to the semifinals.

Aside from the Texters, the other semifinalists are the Petron Blaze Boosters, Alaska Aces, Barangay Ginebra Kings, B-Meg Llamados and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Booted out are the Express, the Meralco Bolts and the Powerade Tigers.

While Talk ‘N Text is looking to improve their standing going into the semis, it will be a matter of pride for the Express, who are avoiding a winless conference.
