MAN NABBED FOR SHABU

A 40-YEAR-OLD man was arrested after he was allegedly caught using marijuana in barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.

 
Nilo Sungahid, a resident of the barangay, yielded one hand-rolled marijuana stick and two plastics of solvent.

Sungahid was arrested by a team headed by Insp. Edward Barrios.

Police were conducting preventive patrol past midnight yesterday when they smelled the odor of burnt marijuana.

Sungahid was detained at the Mandaue City police station 1 while waiting for charges to be filed against him, said police.

Before his arrest, Ritchie Valle figured in a fistfight with a habal-habal driver past 1 p.m. last Tuesday.

 
Police said trouble broke out when Valle refused to pay his fare.

CABBIE SHOT, HURT

A 25-YEAR-OLD taxi driver was shot and wounded by his neighbor in barangay Usmad, Argao town, southern Cebu.

 
Police said personal grudges could be the motive in the shooting of Lorenzo Dayaganon.

 
They said the suspect, Jasper Carillo Bajenting, used a home-made shotgun locally known as pugakhang in shooting Dayaganon.

 
Police said the victim drove a motorcycle when he was shot in the right arm in front of the store of Bajenting’s father in sitio Malacurong.

FATHER  ACCUSED OF MAULING CHILDREN

A MAN was arrested after being accused of repeatedly mauling his children in barangay Jaclupan, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

 
Domingo Rabago, 52, is back in jail two after serving an 11-year sentence for a murder case.

 
Police said Rabago’s 16-year-old son and 19-year-old daughter reported to their uncle last Tuesday night that their father have been mauling them for no apparent reason.

 
The uncle, Fernando Rabago, a councilor in the barangay, sought help from the police.

 
Members of the Talisay police arrested Domingo in his home around 7 p.m.

KOREAN ARRESTED FOR ‘HIT AND RUN’

POLICE arrested a 23-year-old female Korean involved in a hit and run accident in barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City last Tuesday night.

 
Police said Lee Seulgi was driving a sedan car with plate number ZTD-636 when she hit a motorcycle driven by Mark Sullano, 31, a habal-habal driver.

 
Instead of stopping, Seulgi sped off.

 
Some habal-habal drivers chased Seulgi until they corndered the Korean a few meters from where the accident occurred. Seulgi was turned over to responding policemen.

 
Sullano was brought to the Cebu Doctors’ Hospital in Cebu City.
