Schools announce suspension of Thursday classes

MANILA, Philippines—Following are schools or areas where classes are suspended on Thursday:

NCR

• Makati City: all levels, public and private on orders of Mayor Jun Binay
• San Juan (under state of calamity): all levels, public and private, according to Mayor JV Ejercito
• Pateros
• Pasig City
• Taguig City: all levels, including City Hall employees on order of Mayor Lani Cayetano
• Manila City: all levels, public and private on order of Mayor Alfredo Lim
• Navotas
• Mandaluyong City
• Marikina City
• Valenzuela City
• Pasay (until Friday, Aug 10)

Region 3

• Bocaue, Bulacan
• Calumpit, Bulacan
• Hagonoy, Bulacan
• Olongapo
• Bataan
• The rest of Bulacan
• Zambales
• Cabanatuan
• Nueva Ecija

Region 4A

• Taytay, Rizal
• Antipolo City: all levels, public and private on orders of Mayor Nilo Leyble

Schools

• Adamson University: classes in all levels and working personnel
• Far Eastern University:  classes are cancelled at FEU Manila, Makati, East Asia College and Diliman campuses, said FEU president Lydia B. Echauz
• University of the Philippines Diliman: classes suspended, according to Chancellor Caesar Saloma
• Ateneo de Manila: classes in the Ateneo Grade School, High School, and Loyola Schools (college and graduate programs) suspended. Offices will remain closed.
• De La Salle University Manila (work and classes suspended on all levels suspended in Taft, Makati Extension, and Ortigas Extension campuses)
• Miriam College (work and classes remain suspended on all levels)
• University of Asia and the Pacific
• University of the Philippines Manila: classes and office work remain suspended until further notice on order of UP Manila Chancellor Dr. Manuel Agulto
•  Xavier School: all levels
