House of Representatives employees have to work, only session suspended

MANILA, Philippines—Work at the House of Representatives resumes Wednesday but only for its staff.

Public Relations and Information Bureau executive director Bernadette dela Cuesta clarified that as per information coming from House secretary general Marilyn Barua-Yap that “only the session in the House of Representatives is suspended.”

“Work of the employees is not suspended,” said Dela Cuesta.

Yap earlier said that the session was suspended to allow lawmakers to coordinate relief assistance and rehabilitation activities in their respective districts.
