Aquino sees no need to apologize to bishops

CALAMBA CITY, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino on Friday said he sees no need to apologize to Catholic bishops,  who demanded a public apology after the Church was put in a bad light when they were embroiled in the so-called “Pajero” scandal.

“I don’t see the need why I should apologize,” the President told reporters in an interview.

Aquino said the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office under his administration only put forth the findings of the Commission Audit regarding the questioned vehicle donations.
