Wolves trounce Reds in E-League

CONVERGYS pounced on Eperformax’s third quarter meltdown as the Wolves devoured the Reds, 63-59, last Saturday in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.

The Wolves turned a slim 32-31 halftime lead into a sizable 51-40 lead going into the fourth by after they outscored the Reds, 19-9, in the pivotal third canto.

Ellison Rivera scored 11 points and Ibhar Je Del Mar added 10 for the Wolves, who tied defending champion Stream at second in the northern division standings with their eighth win in nine games.

The Aegis Vipers are on top in the northern bracket with a 9-1 (win-loss) cards.

Floyd Dean Singco scored 20 points to lead Eperformax, which fell to 6-3.

In the other northern division game, Aerl Genebraldo exploded for 32 points and hauled down nine rebounds to lead the Calltek Trojans to a one-sided 80-40 win over the Executive Boutique Lycans.

Genebraldo got the needed support from Cliff Anthony Abellana and Oliver Jade Flores, who tallied 16 and 10 points in the Trojans’ second win in nine outings.

Andrew Thomas John Hilvano scored 21 points, the lone Lycan to score in double figures as Executive Boutique stayed winless after nine games.
