Kenyans shine anew in Humanity Run
JOSPHAT Kiptanui and Abraham Missous continued the Kenyan domination of races over the weekend as they topped their respective divisions in the Red Cross Humanity Run yesterday ay the Ayala Center Cebu.
Kiptanui, who also topped last Saturday’s Saint Ignatius 16k run, clocked 56 minutes and three seconds to win the 16-kilometer crown while Missous finished the 8k race on top with a time of 26 minutes and 35 seconds.
Meanwhile, Filipino runners made waves in the female division as Mary Grace delos Santos and rival Mary Joy Tabal emerged victorious in their respective divisions. Tabal and Delos Santos figured in a head-to-head matchup last Saturday with the former winning the 16k crown.
Yesterday, both runners joined different categories with Delos Santos (1:13:52) topping the 16k divsion and Tabal (30:23) winning the 8k class.
The youngest of the dynamic Andrin siblings, Cherry, topped the 4k race with a time of 17 minutes and 57 seconds while Kenneth Nier placed first in the male division with a time of 18 minutes and 11 seconds.
