Tutor wins ROX adventure trail run
CRISTY Tutor tried a different kind of race but still emerged victorious as she won the 10k crown of yesterday’s Recreational Outdoor Exchange (ROX) adventure trail run in Jubay, Liloan, northern Cebu.
Tutor conquered all the obstacles including a mud trail and finished the race in one hour, eight minutes and 31 seconds to emerge on top.
Tutor outran veteran and multi-awarded trail runner Merlita Arias-Dunkin, who placed second with a time of one hour, 10 minutes and 20 seconds. Gwen Arañas placed third with a time of one hour, 34 minutes and 39 seconds.
Charlie Berberio, on the other hand, lorded the men’s 10k race with a time of 53 minutes and two seconds.
Berberio actually survived a close race against Joey Lee of the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation, who was just one second behind him in the finish line. Generoso Patindol placed third (1:03:37).
The entire route actually measured 11 kilometers. Participants had to go through a mud crawl, cargo net climb and rope rapelling.
