MANILA, Philippines — Face-to-face classes in parts of Luzon are suspended on Wednesday, September 9, due to the continued effects of the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Below are the following areas with suspended face-to-face classes on Wednesday

Metro Manila

• Quezon City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Caloocan City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Malabon City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Mandaluyong City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Manila City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Marikina City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• San Juan City – no face to face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Valenzuela City – afternoon classes suspended; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning upon discretion of schools
• Pasay City – afternoon classes suspended; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning 

Pampanga

• San Simon – no face-to-face classes; all levels; public and private (except Concepcion Integrated School); until Friday, Sept. 11
• Sto. Tomas – no face-to-face classes; all levels; public and private; until Saturday, Sept. 12
• Angeles – no face-to-face classes; all levels; public and private; shift to alternative modes of learning
• Masantol – no face-to-face classes; all levels; public and private; until Sept. 10

Benguet

• Kibungan – no face-to-face classes for daycare; until Sept. 10

Pangasinan

• Mangaldan – no face-to-face classes for public schools; all levels

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration earlier said in a weather advisory that the southwest monsoon may continue to bring heavy rains to Luzon and Visayas on Wednesday.  /gsg /das/dp/jpv
