Cabbie robs passenger
A taxi driver was arrested after he allegedly robbed his female passenger in barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
The woman’s two cell phones were recovered from Ramil Lamoste, 27, driver of Revolution Taxi.
Police said Mary Francis Dacalos, 23, a resident of barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City, rode Lamoste’s taxi in barangay Lahug around 6 a.m. yesterday.
The woman asked to be brought to a culinary school in Guadalupe.
When the taxi reached the school on Don Gervacio Street, Lamoste did not stop.
He told his passenger that something was wrong with the vehicle, said police.
A few meters from the area where the woman was supposed to disembark, the driver poked a knife at Dacalos and declared a holdup.
Article continues after this advertisementAfter handing her cell phones to the driver, Dacalos got off the taxi and sought the help of a passing habal-habal driver.
Article continues after this advertisementThe driver was able to jot down the plate number of the taxi. They reported the robbery to the Guadalupe police station.
