COTABATO CITY – Thousands turned out for a rally seeking good governance here on Monday morning, prompting the local government to cancel classes in all levels in public and private schools.

The participants marched and gathered at the grounds of the Bangsamoro Government Center here, the seat of government of the five-province, three-city Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) at around 6 a.m.

Mayor Bruce Matabalao said the rally was organized by a civil society organization calling for “support to moral governance.”

He said the police, Philippine Marines, Public Safety Office and the City Traffic Management Command have been deployed to ensure the safety of the rallyists. /gsg
