8 hurt as car slams onto palay farm in Isabela

CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela – Eight people were wounded, including four children, when a wayward car rammed a concrete barrier, turned upside down and ended up at a rice field along Alicia-Angadanan bypass road in Alicia, Isabela on Friday, June 19.

The incident happened just before 8 a.m., the, Isabela police said.

The victims, who came from San Guillermo and Angadanan towns, were on board the car to attend a convention of their religious sect in Tumauini when they crashed.

The driver, a woman, allegedly lost control of the vehicle after its front tire was busted.

Police operatives from Alicia were later assisted by police members from Jones and Santiago City who also helped in rescue as they happened to pass by at the crash site. The wounded people were brought to the nearest government hospital. /jpv
