TUGUEGARAO CITY – Police anti-drug operatives seized an estimated P1.02 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), weighing about 150 grams, from a tricycle driver during a raid inside an alleged drug den in the city’s poblacion area on Friday.

Police Lt. Col. Garry Matagay, Tuguegarao City police chief, said the 37-year-old female tricycle driver, identified only as “Jean,” was arrested by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Authorities confiscated eight plastic sachets of suspected shabu, an open sachet, two disassembled glass tubes with drug residue, and a tooter containing suspected shabu liquid. Also recovered were non-drug items, including two weighing scales, a pouch, a cellphone box, a plastic container, and a coin purse.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165) are being prepared against the suspect, who was placed under police custody./coa
