Marcos leads opening of Calax extension in Cavite, Laguna

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday inaugurated the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Subsection 3, which is set to cut travel time between Biñan City, Laguna, and  General Trias, Cavite, from one hour to 26 minutes.
FASTER ROUTE The 3.9-kilometer subsection of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) Silang (Aguinaldo) Interchange is open to motorists. This new segment of Calax shortens travel time to Tagaytay City and other parts of Cavite from the South Luzon Expressway. —REM ZAMORA

GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday inaugurated the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (Calax) Subsection 3, which is expected to cut travel time between Biñan City, Laguna, and General Trias, Cavite, from one hour to 26 minutes.

The 4.5-kilometer section extends the Governor’s Drive Interchange in General Trias, Cavite, helping ease traffic congestion in both areas.

It will officially open at 12 midnight and is toll fee for one month.

With the newly opened segment, the operational length of Calax now spans 26 kilometers from the Mamplasan Entry in Biñan, Laguna, accommodating additional 6,000 motorists daily.

The entire 44.6-kilometer Calax project, meanwhile, will eventually link the Manila-Cavite Expressway in Kawit to the South Luzon Expressway in Mamplasan.

Once fully integrated with CAVITEX, the combined network is projected to serve up to 95,000 vehicles daily. /jpv
