Team Rama, RC Goldline set title duel in PPBC tilt
THE Jingjing Rama-led Team Rama dismantled Jarduls of Art Arellano, 96-81, Wednesday night to advance to the final round of the Punta Princesa Basketball Cup (PPBC)-2012, 2nd Conference basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym in Labangon.
Team Rama will face RC Goldline in the title match slated tonight after the latter beat Alexia Builders, 81-76.
Team Rama had a sluggish start and trailed, 20-27 as Randy Damolo and Art Arellano sizzled for Jarduls. But Rama went strong in the 2nd canto with playing coach Jingjing Rama and Mario Suarez leading their squad to a 21-11 rally to grab a 41-38 lead at the half. Team Rama then put the game beyond Jarduls’ reach with a massive 30-15 run in the third to erect a huge 18-point edge, 71-53 going to the fourth quarter.
Mario Suarez and Rany Cabañero scattered a game-high 25 and 22 points, respectively to power Team Rama while Randy Damolo and Glen Cabiluna paced Jarduls with 20 and 15 points, respectively.
Earlier, RC Goldline bucked the absence of playing coach Charlie Reyes in beating Alexia Builders, 81-76 to claim the other finals ticket.
RC Goldline leaned on its impressive 31-19 start to repel Alexia’s repeated rallies down the stretch.
