Woman complains that British boyfriend beats her up

A 21-YEAR-OLD Cebuana sought the help of the Provincial Women’s Commission (PWC) after complaining that she was physically abused by her 52-year-old British boyfriend.

She said they were living together as a happy couple for four years until he started beating her up.

“He treats me as if I’m his servant. He beats me and wants me to do the things he wants,” she said in Cebuano.

She said the physical abuse started last year when her partner started using drugs.

The woman was accompanied by her mother when she went yesterday to the office of Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale.

She showed a scar on her neck where she said her boyfriend bit her.

Magpale, who co-chairs the PWC, wasn’t around during the visit.

Officials of the barangay where the couple live have issued a resolution ordering the British national to leave the place.

The woman wanted to see him deported.

The complaint was referred to the PWC.

The Cebuana and the British national were introduced to each other by a friend of her older sister’s boyfriend.
