Several areas suspend classes due to shear line on Monday, Jan. 5

MANILA, Philippines — Some local government units suspended classes on Monday, Jan. 5, amid continuous rain brought by the effects of the shear line.

According to the state weather bureau, the shear line is currently affecting parts of the Bicol Region and Visayas, bringing rain and overcast skies.

Below is the list of areas that have declared suspension of classes for Monday, Jan. 5:

Eastern Visayas

• Tacloban City – all levels, both public and private
• Tanauan, Leyte – all levels, both public and private
• Babatngon, Leyte – all levels, both public and private
• Caibiran, Biliran – all levels, public schools only
• Northern Samar – all levels, both public and private

Bicol Region

• Caramoan, Camarines Sur – all levels, both public and private
