In a Facebook advisory, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said the incident happened at 6:30 p.m.
“Affected passengers are now being transferred to the next train, while our maintenance team has already been deployed to the site,” the DOTr said.
“We apologize for the inconvenience,” it added.
Earlier, acting DOTr secretary Giovanni Lopez ordered the management of the MRT-3 to further tighten the safety protocols on its train stations’ rail lines following a technical issue between the interstations of Santolan and Ortigas (southbound) on November 18.
That led to the implementation of provisional service from the Shaw Boulevard Station to Taft Avenue Station for almost two hours. /mr
