Over 250 stakeholders back PCSO charity programs

Over 250 stakeholders throw their support to Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office charity programs.

MANILA, Philippines — More than 250 stakeholders on Friday pledged their support for Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) programs.

The commitment was made during the 2025 Charity Summit.

“True impact is achieved when government, institutions, and civil society work hand in hand, united by a common purpose: to bring charity and healthcare closer to the Filipino people,” PCSO General Manager Melquiades A. Robles said.

He also highlighted the importance of collaborative effort in achieving an effective and efficient charity initiatives.

GM Robles also bared they take guidance from the directive of President Ferdinand R.Marcos Jr., who emphasized in his recent SONA the importance of strengthening and modernizing the healthcare system of our country.

The Summit was also attended by DSWD Undersecretary for Operations Group Monina Josefina Romualdez, who shared that a collective effort in charity work creates ripples of kindness.

Likewise, Presidential Action Center head Ryan Joseph A. Sartre reiterated the moral obligation of participating in charity programs and partnerships.

The summit featured open forums, exhibits of PCSO programs, networking sessions, and the symbolic “Handprints on the Commitment Wall,” where participants pledged continued dedication to public service and humanitarian work.

Moving forward, the PCSO is set to intensify its initiatives to bring healthcare closer to Filipinos.

Among these are the provision of vital equipment to government hospitals under its Medical Equipment Program, the deployment of mobile health and dental clinic units, and the rollout of sea patient transport vehicles designed to serve last-mile and island communities.

In addition, the PCSO also awarded P4.4 million to its institutional partners during the event through its Institutional Partnership Program (IPP).

PCSO released financial support to Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation Philippines, Inc., Father Palau of Panguntacan, Onesimo Foundation, Inc., St. Vincent Home, Inc., and Social Action Center of Pampanga.

The said institutions received P1 million, P500,000, P400,000, P800,000, and P600,000, respectively, to augment their capacity in helping vulnerable communities and individuals.

Meanwhile, the Nutrition Foundation of the Philippines, the Philippine Sports Commission, and the Philippine Red Cross also received checks from PCSO.

As mandated by law, PCSO is committed to assisting the government in its social welfare program. These agencies received P296,000, P246,000, P593,000, respectively.
