MANILA, Philippines — Several local government units (LGUs) have suspended classes for Friday, July 18, in anticipation of inclement weather due to Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon, locally known as habagat.

The following areas suspended classes on Friday, July 18:

Based on the 8 a.m. bulletin of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), tropical storm Crising was last spotted about 250 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The tropical storm has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving northwest at 15 kph.
