American facing fraud charges nabbed
AGENTS of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) arrested an American national facing fraud charges in the US.
William Phillips III was arrested yesterday in his residence in barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
The foreigner was brought to the NBI-7 office before he was transported to Manila. NBI-7 Assistant Director Lauro Reyes said Phillips will be deported to the US.
Philipps is facing a deportation charge for being “an undocumented and undesirable alien; and for overstaying.”
In 2011, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio issued a Federal felony warrant of arrest against Philipps on accusations of “conspiracy to defraud US and making false personal income tax return.”/REPORTER ADOR VINCENT MAYOL
