Re-elected Sen. Lito Lapid takes oath in Pampanga

MANILA, Philippines — Re-elected Sen. Lito Lapid has officially taken his oath in Pampanga on Saturday.
Lapid’s office said the senator took his oath before his brother, Arturo Lapid, chief of Barangay Poblacion in Porac, Pampanga.
“To our countrymen who helped and supported me, thank you very much. Because they continue to love me, I will return it with love and honest service to our countrymen,” Lapid said in Filipino on Sunday.
“I will continue to serve our countrymen, especially the poor. Thank you very much for your support and love.” he added.

Based on the Commission on Elections’ official and final results, Lapid earned over 13.3 million votes.
Lapid co-authored Republic Act No. 9999, or the Free Legal Assistance Act of 2010.
