SLEx crackdown on speedsters

/ 02:44 AM July 02, 2011

Traffic enforcers are cracking down on speedsters at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) in a bid to make the privately-run highway safer for motorists.

The stricter enforcement of rules on over-speeding, overloading and overstaying in the fast lane started on June 1. A month into the crackdown, SLEx operator South Luzon Tollways Corp. (SLTC) says the number of accidents on the highway have fallen by 50 percent.

The company’s traffic enforcers are deputized by the Land Transportation Office.
