Metro Manila flash floods subside—MMDA

MANILA, Philippines—Flood waters have subsided and traffic movements have improved as of 10 p.m., hours after sudden heavy rains dumped on Metro Manila Thursday, a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority official said.

Resty Tapay of Metrobase said the remaining problem areas were along the northbound lane of C5 Kalayaan to Ortigas service road and the White Plains in Quezon City up to New York street, Cubao, Quezon City.

The earlier traffic congestions along EDSA from Timog to Santolan; EDSA FB Harrison to Taft Avenue in Pasay City; and Magallanes in Makati Ciy to P. Tuazon in Quezon City have eased and traffic was reported moving fast, Tapay said.

Tapay also said that the gutter-high flood along P. Tuazon, Quezon City, receded around 6 p.m.—Jamie Marie Elona
