Heavy to intense rains forecast in 4 Luzon areas from Dec. 26 to 28
MANILA, Philippines — Heavy to intense rains are expected in four Luzon areas from Thursday to Saturday due to the shear line and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.
In its 11 a.m. weather advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said heavy to intense rains will prevail in Aurora, Quezon, and Isabela from Thursday noon (December 26) to Friday noon (December 27).
This condition will bring 100 to 200 millimeters (mm) of rainfall.

Isabela will continue to experience heavy to intense rains from Friday noon (December 27) to Saturday noon (December 28), along with Cagayan province.

Article continues after this advertisementHeavy to intense rainfall will likely bring flooding, especially in urbanized, low-lying, and coastal areas, while landslides are possible in moderate to highly susceptible places.

The following areas will experience moderate to heavy rainfall (50 to 100 mm of rainfall) from Thursday to Saturday:
Thursday noon to Friday noon:
- Cagayan
- Apayao
- Camarines Norte
- Dinagat Islands
- Surigao del Norte
- Surigao del Sur
- Davao Oriental
Friday noon to Saturday noon:
- Apayao
- Aurora
- Dinagat Islands
- Surigao del Norte
- Davao Oriental
Moderate to heavy rainfall may bring localized flooding mainly in urbanized, low-lying, and coastal areas, while landslides are likely in highly susceptible areas.
