Stallions, Wolves crush foes
THE LEXMARK Stallions and Convergys Wolves were hardly challenged in posting separate victories last Saturday in the 2012 Sun Cellular E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
The Stallions proved too much for the Eli Global Underdogs, 104-51, while the Wolves had an easy time dispatching the JP Morgan Chase and Co. Bankers, 96-30.
Typifying a balanced attack, the Stallions had five players scoring in double figures led by Nell Armamento and Mervin Balansagm who scored 17 and 15 points, respectively.
Ellery Ariate chipped in 12 markers, while Franco Angelo Cipriano and Jared Positos chipped in 10 points for Lexmark, which which scored at least 20 points in every quarter to ice the resounding 53-point blowout.
Eli Global didn’t have the firepower to keep with the Stallions as Jesus Recarde and John Raymund Bartulin were the only Underdogs to score in twin digits with 14 and 10 markers, respectively.
Meanwhile, Joshua Ryan Yam fired 24 points, while Elison Rivera, John Caparoso and Mark Gonda added 16 each for the Wolves, who held the Bankers scoreless in the second period for the easy win.
