Yang is new PNP-Anti Cybercrime Group chief
MANILA, Philippines — Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang is the new chief of the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG).Yang took over from Maj. Gen. Ronnie Cariaga, who was reassigned to the Area Police Command in Northern Luzon after being administratively relieved for alleged anomalies during a raid on a Philippine offshore gaming operator hub in Manila.
Replacing Yang as SPD Director is Brig. Gen. Manuel Abrugena of the Special Action Force.
Additionally, four police colonels were designated new roles in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in another order effective Friday, Dec. 20.
Col. Erosito Miranda was assigned as the officer in charge of regional staff at the NCRPO headquarters.
Meanwhile, Col. Amante Daro and Col. Randy Glenn Silvio were chosen to be Acting Deputy Directors for the Administration of the Northern Police District and Quezon City Police District, respectively.
Col. Rodel Pastor was tapped to be Acting Deputy Director for Operations of the SPD.
