Pasig City fire leaves 1 dead, 60 families displaced
MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City on Sunday, leaving one person dead and another one injured, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
According to the BFP, the fire damaged 30 houses and displaced 60 families. It reached the first alarm at 3:47 a.m. and the second alarm at 4:02 a.m.
The BFP declared the blaze under control at 5:49 a.m.
After 50 firetrucks and an ambulance responded to the scene, the fire was extinguished at 6:23 a.m.
According to the BFP, the fire incurred an estimated P1 million in damages.
As of posting, the cause of the fire was under investigation, the BFP said.
