MANILA, Philippines — Two weather systems will continue to bring overcast skies and rains in most parts of Luzon on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to state weather specialist Grace Castañeda, the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to bring cold weather, as well as cloudy skies with rains in many parts of Northern and Central Luzon.

Castañeda further noted that the shear line, brought by the collision of dry, hot winds from the Pacific Ocean and cold winds from the northeast monsoon, will result in cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in many parts of Luzon and some parts of Visayas on Monday.

Among the areas affected by the shear line are Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija and Bulacan.

(Cloudy skies with rainfall will still be experienced in parts of the Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Calabarzon, as well as in Aurora and Isabela, caused by the shear line.)

(Meanwhile, overcast skies will also be experienced in parts of Quirino, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Metro Manila, with chances of scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunderstorms.)

Pagasa advised the public to remain cautious due to the threat of flooding and landslides brought about by rains in affected areas.
