Cebuano Pantino secures boys 14 finals seat in Alabang net
CEBUANO Arthur Craig “Iggy” Diaz Pantino clinched a finals slot in the boys 14 category of the Alabang 1018 tournament after crushing Alanis Vincent, 6-1, 6-2 at the Alabang Country Club, Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City yesterday.
The second seed Pantino will meet Mama Sohaimen for the title.
The University of San Carlos netter is also in contention for the boys 14 doubles title after he and partner Emmanuel Fuellas outsmarted Joel Atienza and Jose Mapa, 7-6, 6-3, in the semifinals.
The two will face Vincent and Justin Prulla for the title.
Meanwhile, the 16-under title remains elusive for Pantino as he bowed out early after losing to Jeleardo Amazona, 7-6, 2-6 (4-10).
