Pagasa: Rains likely in parts of PH due to northeast monsoon, easterlies
MANILA, Philippines — Some parts of the country will experience rain on Friday due to the northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In the 4 a.m. weathercast, Pagasa specialist Rhea Torres said the northeast monsoon is affecting the extreme northern Luzon while the easterlies, or wind coming from the Pacific Ocean, are influencing the atmospheric conditions in the rest of the country.
“Dulot ng epekto ng northeast monsoon o hanging amihan, posible ang makulimlim na panahon na may kasamang mahihinang pag-ulan, pag-ambon sa area ng Batanes at Babuyan Islands,” Torres said.
(Due to the effects of the northeast monsoon, or amihan, overcast weather with light rains in Batanes and Babuyan Islands is possible.)
