Signal No. 3 lifted in Northern Luzon as Marce continues to weaken

MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau lifted Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 in parts of Northern Luzon as Typhoon Marce (International name: Yinxing) continues to weaken.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) last located Marce at 165 kilometers west of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

As of 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, Marce maintained maximum sustained winds of 140 kph with a gustiness of 170 kph, moving west southwestward at 20 kph.

Signal No. 2 indicates wind speeds between 62 and 88 kph, while Signal No. 1 has wind speeds between 39 and 61 kph.

Marce will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday afternoon or evening, the state weather bureau said.

It added that the typhoon may further weaken in coming days due to dry air from northeastern winds.
