Banilad badminton team to vie in POC-PSC Nat’l Games

THE vaunted players of the Banilad Elementary School badminton team are set to showcase their piowerful smashes and deft drop shots in the upcoming Philippine Olympic Committee-Philippine Sports Commission’s Philippine National Games to be held in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental from May 26 to June 3.

The team which is the perennial champion in the annual National Milo Little Olympics, CVIRAA and other regional and national tournaments will compete in the week-long meet.

The team is coached by Eddie Estoconing.

Estoconing’s wards recently earned three golds and a silver in the recent Palarong Pambansa held in Linggayen, Pangasinan after topping the boys team tie category, boys doubles and mixed doubles and snatching a silver medal in the girls team tie.

Banilad Elementary School is composed of Estoconing’s assistant coach Alma Flores along with players’ Tricia Opon, Katrina Garing, Laville Laborte, Ryan James Doromal, James Ryan Navarette and Carl Bejasa.
