LIGAO CITY — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) resumed its operations starting Sunday, November 3, in Bicol Region following the suspension of services due to widespread flooding caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) in the provinces of Albay and Camarines Sur.

PNR’s Engineering Department Manager Jaypee Relleve has confirmed to the Inquirer that all affected rail track sites have been declared safe for use. The train operations were suspended beginning October 22 when Kristine hit the Bicol region.

“The Engineering Department has issued Track Certification, meaning the tracks and bridges have been inspected and are now safe for train passage. Additionally, the Rolling Stock Maintenance Department has released Rolling Stock Certification, verifying the safety of our train units,” he added.

The PNR official also said all train services from Naga City to Sipocot, as well as from Legazpi City to Naga City and vice versa have resumed their regular schedules.
