MANILA, Philippines — Classes are suspended in some areas in Luzon on Monday, October 28 due to the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

According to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 158 cities and municipalities have been placed under a state of calamity following the impact of Kristine.

In the Bicol Region, 78 areas have been declared under a state of calamity, followed by 63 in Calabarzon, 13 in Eastern Visayas, and one area each in the Ilocos Region, Soccsksargen, Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region.
