LIST: Class suspensions on Oct. 28 due to effects of Storm Kristine

MANILA, Philippines — Classes are suspended in some areas in Luzon on Monday, October 28 due to the damage caused by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami).

Here’s the list of schools where classes are suspended on October 28, 2024 (Monday):

Cavite

• Noveleta: All levels, face-to-face classes, public only; until October 30

Laguna

• Biñan: All levels, public and private
• San Pedro: All levels, face-to-face classes only, public and private schools; until October 31
• Bay: All levels, public and private
• Santa Cruz: All levels, public and private; until October 31
• Los Baños: All levels, public only; until October 31
• Calamba: Pre-school to senior high school, public only; until October 30
• Santa Rosa: Pre-school to senior high school, public only; until October 31

Batangas

• Lemery: All levels, public and private; until October 31
• Calaca: All levels, face-to-face classes only, public and private; until October 31
• Nasugbu: All levels, face-to-face classes only, public and private; until October 31
• San Luis: All levels, face-to-face classes only, public and private; until October 31
• Talisay: Pre-school to senior high school, face-to-face classes only, public and private; until October 31
• Taal: All levels, public only
• Laurel: All levels, public and private; until October 31
• San Nicolas: All levels, face-to-face classes only, public and private; until October 31

Camarines Sur: All levels, public and private; until lifted

According to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), 158 cities and municipalities have been placed under a state of calamity following the impact of Kristine.

In the Bicol Region, 78 areas have been declared under a state of calamity, followed by 63 in Calabarzon, 13 in Eastern Visayas, and one area each in the Ilocos Region, Soccsksargen, Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region.
