4 Negros fishermen missing for days rescued at sea

BACOLOD CITY Two fishermen from Cadiz City, Negros Occidental and two others from Valladolid town who went missing amid the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine were rescued at sea, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Sunday.

Joren Parochil and Edwin Hinojales went fishing on Thursday morning, Oct. 24, but they failed to return home in Cadiz City in the evening.

They were found floating in the waters off Nabugtu Island in Masbate on Oct. 26, according to Commander Jansen Benjamin of PCG-Northern Negros Occidental.

Meanwhile, the boat of Robin Fajardo and Jose Carlo Jurial was damaged by strong winds and waves while they were fishing in the waters between Guimaras and Pontevedra on Oct. 25. They were rescued at sea on Saturday.
