Comelec  suspending issuance of voters certification on Sept. 30

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday announced that the issuance of voter’s certification in all the Offices of the Election Officer across the country on Monday, September 30 will be suspended.

The Comelec said that this is to give way to the last day of voter registration.

“Sa Lunes, Setyembre 30, 2024, isususpinde ng COMELEC ang pag-issue ng Voter’s Certification o Voter Registration Record sa lahat ng Offices of the Election Officer (OEO) sa buong bansa bilang pagsasaalang-alang sa huling araw ng Voter Registration,” Comelec said in a Facebook post.

(On Monday, September 30, 2024, Comelec will suspend issuing Voter’s Certification or Voter Registration Record in all the Offices of the Election Officer (OEO) in the country to give way to the last day of Voter Registration.)

Comelec said that Metro Manila residents can get their voter’s certification or voter registration record in the National Central File Division of the Election Records and Statistics located at the FEMI Building, Cabildo St., cor. A. Soriano Ave., Intramuros, Manila.

Comelec Chairman George Gacia previously reminded the public that the election body would not extend the registration period to give way in processing the rest of the voter applications during the registration period.

Eligible voters can register at the office of the election officer or satellite registration office in their area from Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Applicants have to bring one of the following:

  • PhilSys National ID card
  • Postal ID card
  • PWD ID card
  • Student ID or library card signed by school authorities
  • Senior citizen’s ID
  • LTO driver’s license or student permit
  • NBI clearance
  • Philippine passport
  • SSS/GSIS ID or any UMID card
  • Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) license
  • Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID
  • Certificate of Confirmation from the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) for ICCs or IPs members
  • Barangay ID or certification with photo
  • Other government-issued valid IDs

Meanwhile, the filing of the certificate of candidacy (COC) for the 2025 midterm elections will happen on October 1-8, 2024.

The filing of COC for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections was moved to November 4-9, 2024 after the Supreme Court ruled that the Sulu province is no longer part of the region.

The midterm elections will be held on May 12, 2025 where a total of 18,271 national and local positions will be up for election.

Meanwhile, BARMM parliamentary elections will fill 73 seats in the parliament.
