LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotic operatives confiscated more than P1.6 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from five suspected drug traffickers who were arrested on Sunday, Sept. 22, in buy-bust operations in Batangas and Quezon provinces.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) on Monday reported that operatives in Taal, Batangas, arrested aliases “Romeo” and “Dalia” at 3:17 p.m. after they sold P300,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction in Barangay Tulo.

The suspects were allegedly found in possession of a knot-tied plastic containing meth weighing 200 grams with an estimated value of more than P1,360,000 and a weighing scale.

In Gumaca town, Quezon, local anti-narcotics lawmen arrested “Allan,” “Jayzon,” and “Geruel” in Barangay Villa Bota at 3:17 p.m., Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said in another report.

Seized from the suspects were seven plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 42.4 grams worth P288,592.

Batangas and Quezon police were conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

The arrested suspects, except Geruel, who is an identified street-level pusher, are classified as high-value individuals in the illegal drugs trade.

They were detained and are facing complaints of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
