Many Chinese ships also left Escoda (Sabina) Shoal following the withdrawal of BRP Teresa Magbanua, according to Commodore Jay Tarriela, the Philippine Coast Guard spokesperson in the West Philippine Sea, on Monday.

As of Sunday, Tarriela said only 11 Chinese maritime militia vessels remain in Escoda Shoal, while no China Coast Guard (CCG) ships were seen in the area.

In its 11 am bulletin on Monday, Sept. 16, Pagasa raised Signal No. 1 over 19 Luzon areas, where minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible.

Fire hits Philippine General Hospital in Manila

Fire hit the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) along Taft Avenue in Ermita, Manila on Monday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

In a report, fire authorities said the blaze started in the hospital’s audio-visual room at 5:56 a.m. and it reached the first alarm by 6:07 a.m.
