Rain can be expected to occur Friday, September 13, 2024, as the southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat, and trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca, which is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility as of Friday morning, continued to affect most of the country. MANILA, Philippines — Rains could be expected to occur Friday as the southwest monsoon and trough of Severe Tropical Storm Bebinca continued to affect most of the country.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Negros Occidental, and Mindanao are likely to experience rainy weather conditions due to the southwest monsoon, locally termed habagat.

The same weather system would cause overcast skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms in the Bicol Region, the southern portion of Quezon, Batangas, and the rest of Visayas.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms could be anticipated in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to the trough or extension of Bebinca, which was still outside of the Philippine area of responsibility as of 3 a.m. on September 13, according to Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja.

Bebinca was last spotted 1,605 kilometers east of Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 95 km per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

“Base po sa latest track ng Pagasa, posibleng pumasok ng ating area of responsibility mamayang hapon o gabi itong si Bebinca,” said Estareja.

(Based on the latest track from Pagasa, Bebinca might enter our area of responsibility this afternoon or evening.)

As for predicted temperature ranges in key cities and areas of the country for September 13, Pagasa issued the following:

  • Metro Manila: 26 to 32 °C
  • Baguio City: 18 to 24 °C
  • Laoag City: 24 to 32 °C
  • Tuguegarao: 25 to 33 °C
  • Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 31 °C
  • Tagaytay: 23 to 31 °C
  • Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 31 °C
  • Iloilo City: 25 to 32 °C
  • Cebu: 26 to 32 °C
  • Tacloban City: 23 to 31 °C
  • Cagayan de Oro City: 25 to 33 °C
  • Zamboanga City: 25 to 32 °C
  • Davao City: 25 to 32 °C

Pagasa did not raise any gale warnings over any seaboards nationwide for Friday.
