MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said it has ordered on Saturday morning the resumption of siphoning operations for oil from sunken motortanker Terranova off Limay, Bataan.

Siphoning operations were suspended from September 2 to 6 as a precautionary measure from possible oil leaks that may be caused by strong current and unfavorable weather conditions.

The siphoning operations has so far resulted in the recovery of around 218,000 liters of oily waste and transferred to a designated treatment facility in Marilao, Bulacan, as of September 5.
