Partial infra damage due to ‘Enteng’ top P12M in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY — Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) left an initial P12.7 million worth of damage to infrastructure in Masbate and Sorsogon, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol reported on Wednesday, September 4.

Gremil Alexis Naz, OCD Bicol spokesperson, told the Inquirer that they are expecting it to rise as they await official reports from other provinces.

Mobo town in Masbate province has reported a P170,000 worth of damage to bridges and flood-control projects.

In Sorsogon, Donsol reported damage on their flood-control project, but authorities are still validating the total cost.

In Sta. Magdalena also in Sorsogon, Enteng damaged two sea wall projects, water works, and an irrigation system worth P12.5 million.

The OCD also reported that 507 houses were damaged, while 39 were destroyed in Masbate and Camarines Norte.
